DAVID ELLEFSON Revisits The Birthplace Of MEGADETH (Video)

April 22, 2011

Ahead of tomorrow's (Saturday, April 23) "Big Four" show at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson visited the birthplace of the band — Sycamore Villas (formerly Sycamore Lanai),a central Hollywood-area two-story 36-unit Palm Springs-style apartment complex located at 1736 North Sycamore in Los Angeles, California — where he and Dave Mustaine met in 1983 "over a few laughs, a couple of friends and a case Heineken." Check out video footage below.

MEGADETH's 1986 album, "Peace Sells . . . But Who's Buying?", has been digitally remastered for a commemorative 25th-anniversary addition to be released on July 12. The new version includes a previously unreleased 1987 concert from the band's first world tour and new liner notes written by MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine and METALLICA's Lars Ulrich.

The deluxe box set also includes previously unreleased mixes of the album's tracks, as well as an expanded 20-page book, plus 8"x10" photos and reproductions of vintage MEGADETH memorabilia.
